Ashmit Gupta

An undergraduate in Engineering Physics at the National Institute of Technology Hamirpur, Ashmit Gupta is placed between technology and research and is currently pursuing a career in Quantum Computing & Web Development. Currently, he is exploring quantum networks, and blockchains and contributing to open source. He is a member of a number of professional and student organizations including QIndia, the American Physics Society, and the Society for Promotion of Electronics Culture(SPEC).

In December 2021, he began his career in Quantum Computing with the Qiskit Textbook. Since then, he has participated in numerous hackathons, such as Electrothon 4.0, and training programs, such as Womanium Quantum 2022, in order to learn more and collaborate with others in the same field. He won Best Beginners Hack Title at Electrothon 4.0 for making a web game based on the basics of quantum computing. During his participation at the Womanium Quantum 2022 organized in July 2022, he participated in a Quantum Hackathon to create a game based on quantum computing and earned diplomas QBronze and QSilver. In August of 2022, he initiated the formation of Physteo, The Physics Society of the National Institute of Technology Hamirpur, which became official in October of that same year. He started his career in web development in September 2022 and worked on the design of the website of SPEC. In October 2022, he also became a Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador and successfully completed Hactoberfest. In November 2022, he was offered a position as a Technical Intern at QuantumGrad, and in December 2022, he enrolled in Qulabs' Specialisation Training in Quantum Network and Internet.

Outside of academics, Ashmit is very involved in community activities and self-learning programming. He organized Electrothon 4.0 in February 2022, an annual international hackathon by the Society for Promotion of Electronics culture and currently. He also organized Startup Internship Program by E-Cell NITH and Specfest 2k22 in April 2022. Currently he is preparing for Nimbus 2023 as a part of Team Abraxas. Ashmit enjoys outside activities including cycling and hiking.
