My name is Allen Joseh and i'm a self-taught programmer.
I been programming since i was 12years old. My first programming language was Actionscript 2.
What am I good at?
- The only coding language i learned at school was C++ but i've worked with more than 10 languages for various programs.
What drives you?
- Well, i'm not from a financially wealthy family so opportunities are the only thing that can help me reach greater heights. Also like i said, my passion for computer started when i was 12 years old which means computer has always been my first love.
Whats the most complex project you have worked on?
-The most complex project must be a game that i made. It took me around 1 year to fully develop it without any bugs and to release it to the Facebook Canvas. In return, i had 10,000 monthly active users.
The project source code can be found on my github repo(https://github.com/AllenAJ/RACE-THE-SUN).
What did you learn?
- I'm answering this as continuation from the above question. So the first and basic thing i learned would be 2 languages which is Actionscript(ClientSide) and C#(ServerSide). I used an online database management service named Player.IO to store the data of various player with unique id being their facebook id which i recieved using the Facebook API.
After making the game, i had to create a website to host and it use Javascript to pass various parameters to my game. And then the final thing i had to take care of was hackers and to do that, i made sure that i code all the important values in my serverside code so that it can't be seen or hacked by any decompilers or softwares. This was what i learned from making a successful game project.
Why should you choose me?
-I'm determined and focused on contributing to open-source and making everyone around me to be aware of the possibilities they can utilise.
Something i learned from attending various places was that people have talents but they just don't know how to harness it so i'd like to show them the heights they can reach by being a role model to them.
I've also been contributing to OpenSource. I even gave away my codes that i worked for a year.
And if titles matter then i'm a Google code-in finalist, InCTF finalist, and various local science fair winner.
Thank you!
