A Car Pool app for IIT Mandi - Our project addresses the privacy and control concerns of traditional carpooling platforms, currently dominated by giants like Ola and Uber. These centralized systems hold extensive data on both drivers and riders, creating potential risks for data privacy. Our solution is a decentralized carpooling platform built on blockchain technology that connects riders and drivers directly through “smart contracts” without third-party intervention. Operating on a peer-to-peer network, this platform secures transactions, ensures transparency, and protects user data. Blockchain’s immutable and encrypted structure keeps user information private, while smart contracts automate ride agreements, making them reliable and tamper-proof. Our tech stack includes Ethereum for smart contract deployment, IPFS (InterPlanetary File System) for decentralized data storage, and a front-end built using React and Node.js for a seamless user experience. By eliminating intermediaries, our platform aims to deliver a secure, private, and user-centric approach to carpooling.
